Interviewing Ms. Brooks and Mrs. Dursley's class. They published a book. By Katherine and Tory

Ms. Brooks and Mrs. Dursley's  class are writing a book. We got a great opportunity to interview the class. Here a few questions we got to ask the class about their new book.

K and T:"What will the book be about?"

Class:"The book will be about animals going to Runny Babbit's birthday party. Runny Babbit is a bunny that is inviting people to go to his birthday party."

K and T:"What's the name of the book?"

Class:"Runny Babbit: a beally rilly sook Babbit's pirthday barty."

K and T:"Who participated in the writing of the book?"

Class:"The entire class participated."

K and T:"What inspired you to write?"

Class:"Shel Silverstein inspired us to write the book."

K and T:"How was the writing process?"

Class:"It was fun and creative. It was difficult at first but it turned out really well. It was difficult because the computer didn't understand the words. The whole process was easy until the computers came in to the process."

K and T:"What was the most difficult part of the writing process?"

Class:"The computers, changing the language. Trying to find the rhythm. Drawing the illustrations, it was hard to draw like Shel."

K and T:"What was the easiest writing process?"

Class:"The drafting process. The illustrations and the rhythms for some kids. Also publishing was hard."

K and T:"How long did it take to write the book?"

Class:"It took about a month to write the book."

K and T:"Was there a lot of  editing?"

Class:"Yes, because we had to revise and use stronger vocabulary. Also we had to flip the words."

K and T:"Did you enjoy writing the book?"

Class:"Yes, because when we re-read it our mistakes were funny. It was fun because the writing and drawings were silly. We also got to swap words and really understand the process of an author. When we switched papers we got to see what our peers wrote about."

K and T:"Was writing the book fun?"

Class:"The book was fun because we got to feel like an author. We got to publish our work. People got to add peers to their poems to make them realistic. Also we got to create characters. We got to work closely with our teachers. Also we got to make animals do unusual things. Shel does simple drawings so it was easy."
