Do you enjoy being in the Student Government ?

Yes, we decided to do it because we realize it was good, for us and for the students.

Do you do a lot of work ?

Yes, we try things such as planning fundraisers and one thing that we are working on is the dance that's coming up .

So before you started, once you got the job what were the thoughts in your mind that for example, were you scared ?

Some of us were scared, and some of us were nervous, but most of us weren't. We knew that it was going to be a big job, but we also knew we had to take on and be responsible.

Why did you want to become president ? 

Both the 6th and 7th grade Presidents said " I thought it would be fun ". The 8th grade president said " I wanted to be a leader for the grade"

Is it hard being president?

6th grades response "Yes, they expect you to do everything but I'm glad I got the opportunity to take on this part"

7th grades response  "No, people expect you to make the school year better "

8th grades response "No, because people look up to you ''

Are you happy in the position you have or do you wish to be in another?              

We like the positions that we have. It's fun but it's a lot of responsibility

What are you working on so far?

Right now so far we are building upon the spring dance, and the Spring Formal for the 8th graders. Also we had a meeting with the Mayor of Newburgh.  Mayor Kennedy came to our school and we got a chance to talk to her and also the chance of representing our school.

                                         -TREASURERS-

So how has the job as taking the role of being the treasurer been so far ? What are you working on ?

We enjoy talking about the plans we're going to do for the school and right now its about the dance but in addition we have this meeting with the mayor. Our part is dealing with the money, but we've got a DJ so the planning has been started, but get ready for the dance because there could be an added surprise.

So how did you feel about meeting the mayor ?

Scared to meet the mayor because for the first time, it's just different.

What is your job as P.R. Officers?

Our job is to plan events, advertise and design posters and later on hang them up.

Why did you choose to be a P.R. Officer?

We wanted to be the people who hang up the posters and to be creative, even to do the advertisements as well.

What is one activity you are currently working on?

The Spring Dance.
